Mental Health Symposium 2007Ottawa, April 19-20, at the Coliseum Theatre
The Canadian Mental Health Association (Ottawa), the Department of Psychiatry of the University of Ottawa, the Royal Ottawa Health Care Group and the Institute of Mental Health Research are collaborating to present this first Symposium, oriented to bring clinicians, consumers, policy-planners, educators, caregivers and different stakeholders all together around Mental Health issues.
This Mental Health Symposium is a great opportunity for interdisciplinary networking support of new attitudes, knowledge and collaboration around general and specific issues, from clinical challenges to care systems. The interactive sessions, panels or workshops will show how to a) build such a team of colleagues of various backgrounds, experience and disciplines, b) give an example of an integrated approach.
Our symposium will try to demonstrate and respect the following principles: a) Clarifying Access & Navigation issues (service delivery systems; continuum of care, from identification to recovery) b) Evidence- based knowledge c) Multi-systemic, shared-care approach d) Offering tools, solution-oriented (Best practices = what works)
The real outcome should be to provide information that will change the practice for the benefit of the consumer, family and all involved.
We hope that this Symposium will interest you and your colleagues, and create many useful contacts, please check later for more details and registration information early in 2007.
