Affective Disorders

Objectives: To learn about the assessment and treatment of major affective disorders.

Description: The student will participate in interviewing and treating in-patients and out-patients with unipolar and bipolar affective disorders. This approach includes team arrangement, ward rounds and comprehensive case reviews. It is an opportunity to learn, in particular, more about psychotropic drugs helpful to these patients and psychotherapy applied. Opportunity for becoming familiar with the specifics o genetic counselling and long-term clinical course of affective disorders.
