ROH Dual Diagnosis Consultation Outreach Team

Objectives:

  • Develop experience in identifying biopsychosocial factors contributing to mental illness in adults with developmental delays.
  • Develop staff in assisting and treating adults with a dual diagnosis.
  • Understand the function of a community multi-disciplinary consultation team.

Description:

The medical student will observe and participate in the diagnosis and management of adults with various levels of developmental delay and a mental illness.  For students with a 1 week or 4 week elective, opportunities to observe psychological assessment, intervention and clinical research assessment will also be available with the team Psychologist, Dr. Farrell.
