Geriatric Psychiatry

Objectives:

  • To diagnose and to treat psychiatric disorders in the elderly
  • To work with a multidisciplinary team
  • To improve interview skills

Description: The student will follow the psychiatrist in all her daily activities. There will be exposure to patients being treated in the Geriatric Psychiatry Inpatient Unit, Day Hospital and Outpatient Clinic. Homes, boarding homes and nursing home visits are made regularly.  Exposure to administrative work and research may also be available.  Student's supervision can be done in any of the two official languages.
