Clinical Services

The University of Ottawa Department of Psychiatry provides clinical services (i.e. patient care) in various locations and settings.

 

The various locations of our Academic Health Science Centres include:

  • Children's Hospital of Eastern Ontario, which provides mental health services for children and youth (aged 0-16). Services include:
    • Crisis Team, for youth presenting in Crisis to the Emergency Room
    • Inpatient program for youth aged 6-12 (6N)
    • Inpatient program for youth aged 12-16 (6E)
    • Behavioral, neuroscience and consultation liaison service
    • Eating disorders program with outpatient and inpatient services
    • ADHD team, for youth presenting with ADHD issues
    • Mood and Anxiety Team, for youth presenting with mood or anxiety problems
    • General Team, for youth with presenting problems not fitting into any other team
    • Trauma Team, for youth presenting with difficulties related to trauma
  • Ottawa Hospital, General and Civic Campus, which is a general hospital with a department of psychiatry with two sites: the General Campus, and the Civic Campus. Services include:
    • Crisis services for individuals presenting to the emergency room in crisis
    • Urgent Care Clinic
    • First Episode Psychosis Clinic, which is located at the Bank Street Professional Building, 1355 Bank Street, Suite 208.
    • Inpatient services (F-main at the Civic; 4N at the General)
    • Consultation-Liaison Program
    • Geriatric Psychiatry
    • Outpatient services
    • Day Hospital
    • Eating Disorders Program
  • Royal Ottawa Health Care Group, which is a specialty psychiatric hospital providing care for youth (age 16-18) and adults. Programs at the Royal Ottawa include::
    • Intensive Assessment and Intervention
    • Anxiety Disorders Program
    • Forensic Services, which provides services for individuals with mental illnesses who are in contact with the law.
    • Youth Psychiatry Program (ages 16-18) , which consists of a variety of inpatient and outpatient programs.
    • General Psychiatry in Transition
    • Geriatric Psychiatry (ages 65+)
    • Mood Disorders
    • Schizophrenia
    • Substance Use & Concurrent Disorders
    • Sleep Disorders Service
  • Centre Hospitalier Pierre-Janet, which is a francophone hospital located in Gatineau, Quebec. Soins spécialisés en psychiatrie, région de l'Outaouais, pour tous les âges, enseignement, recherche, et logiciels diagnostiques.
